- After suffering a first-round TKO loss to Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in the co-main event of Saturday's UFC 97 event, UFC president Dana White said that Chuck Liddell is now retired from professional fighting.
- It looks like UFC 97 might break a North American MMA record. Last night's event in Montreal drew a reported 21,451 fans for an impressive $4.9 million gate.
