Something has struck my curiosity over the years I've been watching wrestling. I'm just curious why the Death Valley Driver hasn't been used in WWE for a while. Is it a banned move or is it simply one of those moves that has fallen out of favor with many wrestlers nowadays? This has been a nagging question that has been running through my head for the past 10 years that I've been watching wrestling.

After the match where Owen Hart broke steve Austins neck Vince banned all moves that drop a wrestler on his head the only exception is the undertakers tombstone piledriver.

Even after that, Kid Kash was using a brainbuster as his finisher and remember that is how he won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. The DDT is still legal as well. Also I found that the Michinoku Driver II is still legal in WWE as Balls Mahoney continued to use it during his stint in WWE but after he was released, it fell out of favor. Also Rene Dupree used the Death Valley Driver as his finisher and The Godfather's Pimp Drop was a Death Valley Driver.

Well if I was a wrestler, I'd bring it back with a vengeance. I do know that in pro wrestling, the word driver is often misused. For, example the Blue Thunder Driver is actually a powerbomb.

I wasn't arguing by the way, I was just making a point.

It would be great to see it make a comeback.

A little triva about the Death Valley Driver for you it was invented by Louie Spicole a wwe prelim guy who came back and had a mid card run as Rad Radford.

Actually it was invented by a Japanese female wrestler named Etsuko Mita.

I did a little research on it.

The only person I know who has used it on occassion is Apoc from the MWO. I've taken it from Bubba Blackwell... it doesn't hurt. Lol, well, if you land right.

Okay, I lied. It does hurt... a lot.

I remember reading somewhere that the powerbomb was invented by Lou Thesz when he botched a piledriver by putting too much momentum in the lift and his opponent ended up sitting on his shoulders and he just slammed his opponent to the mat.

Could be.The first time I remember seeing it Sid Vivious was using it when he debuted in WCW
